The Philippines is an affordable and interesting kite destination that is definitely worth to visit. The island of Boracay will certainly enchant even the non-kiters escort with its beautiful beaches, fine white sand, crystal clear water and breathtaking sunsets on the world-famous White beach.

Kiting conditions are suitable for everyone, from beginners to advanced kiters. For those who don't want to spend their vacation just for kiting, sunbathing, and having fun, the Philippines offers plenty of other options for traveling and exploration.

KITE SURFING PHILIPPINES - BORACAY

Boracay is a real kite paradise, one of the TOP kite surf spots in Southeast Asia, and especially in the winter months December to April is an excellent alternative for those who are looking for escape from European cold winter, somewhere into the warm kitesurf destination.

After our excellent experiences from the previous winter seasons, we'll continue to provide our kitesurf school services on Boracay island. In the main kite season from December to the end of February, you will find us on the Boracay - Bulabog beach, where we have prepared a complete facility for you in our partner kite center Padayon Kiteboarding Center Boracay (storage of kite equipment, compressor, free wifi connection, restaurant directly at the kite spot).

The best months for kiteboarding in Boracay Island are usually from November to April. This time corresponds to the dry season and the Amihan windy season in the Philippines. Here's an overview of the seasons and what to expect:

Amihan (North-East monsoon onshore wind):

Start: November
Peak: December to february
End: April

Beach: Bulabog on the east side of Boracay.
Wind conditions: on shore, expect consistent and strong winds with speeds from 12 to 30 knots. Ideal for both beginners and experienced kiters. Kite sizes 7-9-12 m2, for babies 7 and 10 m2. 90% of windy days.
Water conditions: tide depend lagoon, shallow knee/waist deep, flat/chop/small waves, bottom sand/sea grass, no corals
Weather: The dry season ensures clear skies and minimal rainfall, which are optimal conditions for outdoor activities.

Habagat (South-West monsoon onshore wind):

Start: May
Peak: June to September
End: October

Beach: White Beach on the west side of Boracay.
Wind conditions: Boracay offers kiteboarding even during Hagabat season, wind conditions are usually less reliable compared to Amihan season
Water conditions: open sea, shallow knee/waist deep, chop/waves, bottom sand
Weather: The southwest monsoon brings rainfall and sea conditions may not be as calm as during the dry season.

In summary, if you want to have the best kiteboarding conditions on Boracay Island, plan your trip during the Amihan wind season, especially between December and February when the winds are at their peak.

ACCOMMODATION ON BORACAY

Boracay is one of the TOP vacation destinations in Southeast Asia and has a relatively decent infrastructure. The island offers a relatively wide range of accommodation, transport connections, nightlife, various shopping options, supermarkets and shopping malls.

If you want to find accommodation closer to the kitesurf beach, you have to look in the area of Bulabog beach- Station 2, which is located in the very center of the island, in its narrowest part.

LUXURY APARTMANS A HOTELS

I will not list first-class accommodation, everything is clear here, just go to the Booking.com, Agoda.com, Airbnb.com and book your accommodation.

STANDARD TYPE APARTMENTS

Standard middle-class apartments are in most cases nicely furnished, there is a private bathroom, shower with hot water, toilet, equiped kitchen, refrigerator, air conditioning, TV and high-speed Internet.

ROOMS AND HOSTELS

For a shorter stay on the island or as a low-cost version of accommodation you can book room or hostel, this type of accommodation is especially popular between kitesurfers. The rooms are comfortable, equipped with their own bathroom, toilet, air conditioning or a fan, which is fully sufficient in the "winter" season when itsn't so warm. Another low cost option, especially if someone comes single, are hostels, where you will have a shared room with sharred bathroom and kitchen with a refrigerator. Hostels here are at a decent level, breakfast is usually included in the price.

ACCOMMODATION PRICES ON BORACAY

Short-term rentals (less than a month) are at least advantageous in terms of price. The monthly rent for standard apartment is in range from 500 to 800 EUR/month for two people. Daily rental costs range from 30 to 80 EUR per night for 2 people.

In general, it is very difficult to find an apartment around Bulabog beach and Station 2 in the high season for under 500 EUR/ month. The price for a room in a decent hostel is approximately 12-15 Euro/person/night with breakfast.

Accommodation further from the center of the island, in the area of Station 1,3, Diniwid beach, Manoc-Manoc, will be cheaper alternative 300-500 EUR, but you have to take into account the daily transport to the kite beach, which can neutralize all the advantages of cheaper but distant accommodation. All the given information are based on my personal experiences when I was looking for accommodation on Boracay.

DINNING ON BORACAY

Philippino's cuisine is very simple, their cuisine is nowhere near what we know from European, Chinese, Vietnamese or Thai cuisine. But in any case, you will not die of hunger in Boracay, there is Mc Donald as well:)) There are a few local philippino's restaurants where you can eat deliciously, I recommend Smoke resto on D'Mall market, or restaurants directly on Bulabog kite beach - Kathy bistro and Levantin, which have European and Asian cuisine. Prices are very reasonable, dishes from 3 to 7 Euros, 0,3 lit. beer for 1 Euro. At D'Mall and White beach you can find restaurants from all over the world, European, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, sea food, Lebanese, Indian and various fast foods.

NIGHT LIFE ON BORACAY

In one word, unforgettable! On the 5 km long White beach with beautifully fine white sand, you will find countless restaurants, bars and nightclubs where, in addition to good food and delicious TANDUAY Rum, you will experience a unique atmosphere. After 11:00 p.m., the nightlife moves to popular bars (Exit, Epic, etc.) where the fun continues until dawn, but usually until the sunrise :-)
